Welcome to the Urban Cultural Landscapes of Suzhou. Through this website you can explore the cultural landscapes of the city of Suzhou, China. It will introduce you to Suzhou's unique "double chessboard" urban structure; its housing, both traditional and contemporary; and the social lives of a wide range of urban spaces. It will also put Suzhou into a larger Chinese cultural and historical context.
